Love Scammed by Rilzy Adams

I finished this book but I’m still not sure I really enjoyed it. Considering it’s a novella, it took me entirely too long to finish it.

The start was promising. We had 2 different sets of friends thinking they’re going on a much needed vacation to Turks and Caicos, only to find out that this was the making of most elaborate blind date scheme. Monae and Hudson have never met, much to their best friend’s disappointment. Monae thought she was getting a well deserved girl trip with her best friend and Hudson assumed he’d be kicking it with his boy. Imagine their surprise when the friends aren’t there, but they are booked for a Valentine’s Day vacation in paradise.

The set up is fine. 2 attractive black professionals dealing with the misguided shenanigans of well meaning friends. It’s a beautiful location and the chemistry was genuine. I just didn’t love it, which is ok. It might not have been the right book for me to read at this particular time.

The sexy sexy times was well written though. Inventive, collaborative and fun.

A novella but it took me the length of a full novel to finish.
