This is book 5 in a 5 book novella series. These books…weren’t great but they were saved by its brevity and interesting premise.

Each book focuses on a different “monster” and the human, female mates that are tossed into their cages. Given how short they are (less than 60 pages), things get moving quickly.

All of the books in this series are formulaic. By now you know the cadence and how it’s all going to go. Nonetheless, this one was my favorite. I liked the archangel spin, I thought it was clever to have the last FMC have a connection to the main architect of these prisons and I especially enjoyed how the one who was underestimated ends up being the one to bring the whole thing down.

Also, this “monster” was also the most believable (for obvious reasons), so I could understand the immediate attraction and the “mate” bond.
*
A satisfying conclusion.
