The Thief by Tara Crescent

After reading the previous novella, I knew I was going to enjoy reading about the other cast of characters. In this book, we learn more about Antonio and Lucia.

Lucia is back in Italy to bury her parents. Her mother died and her father followed not that long after. In the midst of her grief, she encounters a man who saves her, has 1 innocent (truly) night with him and then heads back to the states thinking she’ll never see him again. Many years later, she’s temporarily back in Italy and ends up meeting the man again. This time in a very questionable manner.

Antonio is the mafia king of this part of Italy. Anything that happens is not done without his knowledge. So, when he gets word that someone is after his painting, he sets them up so he can catch them. Imagine his surprise when he realizes it’s the woman he met almost 10 years ago. She’s as beautiful now as she was then and add in that she doesn’t seem to be scared of him and his power, he’s just about smitten.

But, of course in these mafia books, it’s never that simple. We have potential turf wars, conniving Russians, confused emotions and drama. But, in the midst of it all, we get to witness a budding romance between an art curator/thief and the mafia king.

This was a well written story with some super spicy sexy times. I might have blushed a couple times! I’m going to keep reading through the series as I’m genuinely interested in how the other men find their matches.
