10000 Hours with a Rich Menace by Jahquel J

You know you’ve enjoyed a book when, as soon as you’re done, you immediately start reading it again. This was crazy, silly, gruesome and sexy all rolled into one wild story!

Stevie is a dreamer. She’s been protected by her mother and when her mother dies, she’s flailing. She has a cousin that loves her, but outside of that, she doesn’t have many friends. The one friend she does have doesn’t seem to have her best interests at heart and gets Stevie in a ridiculously sketchy situation.

Menace (Maverick) Caselli had to grow up fast. His parents were killed when he was in high school and he had to step up to protect his 3 younger siblings.

Growing up in a mafia family is not the easiest, made less so when you know your uncle and his crew had something to do with your parents death. Along with being the head of the family now, he has OCD and ADHD that he’s somewhat managing. That’s an interesting combination when you’re head of an empire. When it is decided that he needs to not only marry but also produce an heir, meeting Stevie (who also has ADHD) is a possible fix to both.

Their initial meeting was not the best, but Stevie and Menace are making the most out of an uncomfortable situation. All Stevie wants is a place to feel welcome and to dream. Menace/Maverick realizes that while most people annoy him, Stevie calms him down and is just as weird as he is. They seem to make sense to one other.

Of course, nothing is ever that simple. There’s deception, broken confidence and problematic family members. There also impromptu international trips on private jets and private viewings at the Louvre. So, considering how they started, Stevie and Maverick are really trying to make this work.

And the sexy sexy times? Babee! Spicy, thoughtful and descriptive. Maverick is not afraid to “talk you through it” and Stevie is on the receiving end of all that loving.

All in all, I’m so glad I picked this up because not only do I have a new world to dive into, I also have a new author to recommend!
