Francesca is the oldest daughter from a Toronto mafia family. She’s a bit of a wild child but has helped raise her sisters since their mother died many years ago. She has plans to attend college now that’s she’s graduated high school, so she is understandably surprised and mortified to hear that she’s betrothed to the son of a mafia king in Italy. She doesn’t want go to Italy, doesn’t want to get married and is not interested in having kids right now.

Antonio is the mafia king of this part of Italy. Anything that happens is not done without his knowledge. So, when he gets word that someone is after his painting, he sets them up so he can catch them. Imagine his surprise when he realizes it’s the woman he met almost 10 years ago. She’s as beautiful now as she was then and add in that she doesn’t seem to be scared of him and his power, he’s just about smitten.

This is one of those books where I didn’t not like it but I didn’t like it either. There was always something going on! It's definitely giving "Pretty Woman" vibes.

Devyn is a Nurse Practitioner who needs to finish a 1 year internship to get her certifications. Unfortunately, she’s working under Dr Joseph Wright who seems to push all her buttons. He’s cocky and arrogant…while also being too handsome for words. She just wants to finish this internship without causing anyone bodily harm.

I’m still not sure if I liked this book or not. To say there’s a lot going on is an understatement! We’ve got a high school in the worst neighborhood, teachers that don’t care, administrators giving BJs to other adults in their office 😳, school security that looks the other way and regular fights in the hallway.

This book ends in a cliffhanger, so you’ve been sufficiently warned. Thankfully all of the books are available, but prepare yourself now for reading the entire set.

I wanted to read this book from the moment I read the summary and I’m thankful that I didn’t delay. It was a joy and delight from start to finish. You will be sucked into this book from the beginning with laughter and sadness.

All the covers in this series are stunning. And, while I don’t think they accurately reflect the descriptions of the main character in this book, it didn’t detract from my enjoyment. This is book 1 of 4, so come ready to read all of them as they end on cliffhangers.

A joy and a delight! Such a fun book. I already knew what to expect from the other 2 in this series but it did not take away from my enjoyment!
